Of Otaku, By Otaku, For Otaku.
In 1999, a group of anime fans came together and started Anime USA, a three-day convention celebrating Japanese animation, art, culture, history, and fashion. In 2004, Anime USA formed a non-profit educational organization to host the convention. Anime USA’s mission is to promote, as well as educate the public about Japanese arts and popular culture. Anime USA is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit managed solely by a staff of volunteers.

Metro
This is Anime USA’s favorite way to come to the convention, and it is highly recommended. The convention takes place right next to the Woodley Park/Adams Morgan metro stop on the red line. When you arrive at the top of the stairs, the hotel will be directly across the street on your right. Either continue up Connecticut Ave to Woodley Road, or go up the back drive located just south of the metro entrance. Anime USA strongly encourages use of the metro, as it will be the easiest and cheapest way to get to our convention. Some metro stations offer free long-term parking on weekends. Please check with the station manager to ensure you are parking legally at that station.
Union Station:
This is the point of arrival for trains and buses in Washington D.C. In addition, there are more than two thousand parking spaces available. The red line metro stop in the basement is a direct 15 minute ride from the hotel.
Reagan National Airport:
This is the primary airport for Washington D.C. with more than ten thousand parking spaces available. The airport is on the blue/yellow lines and is about half an hour from the hotel.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1488419692241{margin-top: 0px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 100px !important;background-color: #1e73be !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;border-radius: 15px !important;}” el_id=”guests”][vc_column 0=””]

The National Zoo is one of Washington’s top tourist attractions and a very short walk from our hotel. To visit, exit the hotel, and walk north along Connecticut Avenue about ¼ of a mile. The Zoo will be located directly across the street (you can’t miss it). It is free and open every day from 6am to 8pm.
The Freer and Sackler Galleries are the Smithsonian Museums devoted to the arts of Asia. They are located on the National Mall and are excited to invite Anime USA members to visit them. They are located off the Smithsonian metro stop on the orange and blue line, about a 25 minute trip from the convention. They are free and open 10am to 5:30pm every day.
There are hundreds of other things to see in Washington DC. Please feel free to ask at the concierge desk of the hotel for recommendations and information. Anime USA hopes you enjoy your visit to Washington D.C.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
